Norskedalen (which means the Norwegian Valley), is a nature and heritage center dedicated to preserving, interpreting and sharing the natural environment and cultural heritage of the area surrounding Coon Valley in southwest Wisconsin.

Haunted Halloween HikeWednesday, Thursday and Friday, October 27, 28, & 29 2010
Wednesday will be the Pumpkin Walk, Thursday and Friday are the Haunted Hikes. All hike start times are 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. Note: after 7 pm. hikes will be SUPER SCARY.
Take a half-mile walk through the many haunting, chilling and thrilling spook stations situated along one of our wooded trails lined by hundreds of carved, lit pumpkins. You will end up with a treat and hot apple cider at Bekkum Homestead at the end of the hike to regain your wits!

Norskedalen’s Old Fashioned Christmas 2010
Saturday and Sunday, December 4 & 5 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Bring your friends and family to enjoy a memorable start to your celebration of the Christmas Holidays with the timeless sounds, smells and traditions of old.
Slow down and enjoy horse-drawn wagon rides around the quaintly decorated grounds, cabins and Bekkum Homestead. Make and take Christmas crafts and activities for the whole family including a scavanger hunt, cake walk and special ornaments. Get your Christmas tree here!
Buy delicious home-made baked goods including lefse, rosettes, cookies, pies and breads at our bake sale. Follow your nose to our delicious a-la-carte lunch with everything from Norwegian stew to rommegrot (cream pudding) to tables filled with holiday baked goods.
Take care of some Christmas shopping with gifts that you won’t find anywhere else, in our gift shop including special Norskedalen merchandise.
If we are lucky enough to have snow, you can enjoy a variety of winter activities like a snowshoe hike!
Mark your calendar now to come out to Norwalk Wisconsin on November 7 for the 3rd Annual Rails to Trails Marathon races. Be it that you attend as a participant or a spectator, the Rails to Trails Marathon is a fun and exciting marathon race which is not only a race for die-hard runners, but is walker friendly as well.
