Art Fair on the Green- The La Crosse Chapter of the AAUW Sponsors the 53rd Annual Art Fair on the Green.  Professional Artists from Around the Country Area Student Art Variety of Media. Art media on display and for sale include jewelry, photography, ceramics, woodworking, watercolors, oil and pastel paintings, wood carvings, metal art, handmade baskets, fabric art and blown glass as well as other media.

July 30 & 31, 2011

Sat. 10am- 5pm & Sun. 10am- 4pm
Admissions: $4, 12 & under free
Proceeds go to Local Scholarships

Marathon on the Mississippi La Crosse Fitness Festival

The Festival Foods La Crosse Fitness Festival is a two-day celebration that gives area residents and visitors from across the country an opportunity to enjoy active, aerobic outdoor events amidst the breathtaking natural beauty of the Mississippi River Valley. The wide range of activities–from a full marathon to a 5-kilometer walk, youth events and cycling events–offers challenges to both experienced and novice athletes of all ages and fitness levels. Proceeds from the Festival Foods La Crosse Fitness Festival are donated to the St. Clare Health Mission, Youth Enrichment Association, and Special Olympics of La Crosse.
Marathon-A scenic 26.2 mile race through the cities of La Crosse and Onalaska. Half Marathon

A 13.1 mile race around the south side of La Crosse.
5K Run/Walk
Kick off the La Crosse Fitness Festival by racing or walking this scenic loop starting in Riverside Park.
Marathon Relay

Share the experience of a marathon by dividing the distance with your friends.
Bike Tour
Enjoy a leisurely ride through the coulee region on one of three different bike tours.
Cycling Criterium
A fast, flat, 0.7 mile loop of road bike race on closed city streets of historic downtown La Crosse.
Cycling Time Trial
Test your endurance with a 2.5 mile ride up Grandad Bluff.
Children’s Events
Free races from 100 yards to 800 yards for children up through Grade 6.

Rotary Clubs of the Coulee Region present Rotary Lights 2010

Rotary Clubs of the Coulee Region announce the 15th annual Rotary Lights display.  This annual tradition that began back in 1995 as a gift to the Coulee Region is a cooperative effort of the eight Rotary Clubs, numerous non-profit groups and volunteer organizations.
The size of the event has grown as well with nearly 200,000 visitors per year enjoying the holiday tradition. In addition there is a Live Nativity, Live Reindeer, 5K Fun Run/Walk, Hay Rides and a parade through town to kick it all off just to mention a few.

The Rotary Lights is held in beautiful Riverside Park where you can drive or walk and admire the spectacular light displays.  The Park opens Friday November 26 with a parade starting from downtown at 5 PM.  There-after the park opens daily at 5 PM thru New Years Eve and the park closes each day at 10 PM.

Admission: FREE.  Donations of cash or non-perishable food at exit of park appreciated.  All proceeds go to benefit the local food banks.

Be sure to add Sparta Wisconsin’s Holiday Parade and Holiday in the Park event as well to your travel plans. This event in Sparta is held only on December 3rd in the downtown area.

Sand on the Riverfront returns again this summer to La Crosse. This 2 day event organized by Riverfront Inc has a sand sculpting competition, food, music and family fun. Proceeds benefit people with disabilities.

This spectactular event starts on August 20th and concludes the 21st at Riverside Park, La Crosse.

Great River Jazz Festival in La Crosse, Wisconsin

The Great River Jazz Festival is coming up quick! For 4 days in August, some of the country’s best jazz musicians perform along the Mississippi River.

This jazz music festival with great music, onsite food and beverage and jazz liturgy are just some of the highlights.
It all happens at the La Crosse Center, 300 Harborview Plaza in La Crosse begining on August 5th thru the 8th.
