The annual Winter Extravaganze at Whitetail Ridge Ski Area will be held Saturday, Jan. 26, located by Fort McCoy.
Scheduled activities include slalom races, snowboard rail jam, snow adventure race, snow-pile dig, big air, gunny sack race, and an obstacle course. The event is open to the public.

Come to Sparta, Wisconsin – WE HAVE THE SNOW for some of the Best Skiing, 
X-country Skiing, Snow Tubing and Snow shoeing around. Fort McCoy’s Whitetail Ridge Ski Area is now open and will offer expanded Saturday hours. Regular Friday hours will be 4:30-9pm. Saturday hours will begin at 10 a.m. and run to 9 p.m. Sunday hours are noon-6 p.m.
This area is 5 miles from the Franklin Victorian Bed and Breakfast where you can stay overnight and ski or tube by day. We would love for you to stay with us and keep warm and sip on hot-coco when you return from a full fun day outdoors.
On The Trail Beer, Wine & BBQ Challenge- This event will be in walking distance from the Franklin Victorian Bed & Breakfast. It will be very entertaining and a day full of fun things to do, see and taste!

The BBQ kickoff will begin at 8:00 AM and the Beer and Wine Garden will open at Noon. Sampling of Beer and Wine from 2:00-4:00 pm. The Sampling will include local breweries as well as local wine distributors.
Awards will be handed out or Homebrews, Amateur Wine Making, as well as BBQ.
There will be Live entertainment by Honey N Rust and The Pat Watters Band. Tickets are available for purchase at Westside Wine & Spirits for $30.00. The Live Music starts at 1:00 pm.

Pick your ride based on your skill level! Because along the Elroy-Sparta Bike Trail there are over 101 miles of connecting trails for all levels. You can get a bike shuttle from the Franklin Victorian Bed & Breakfast when you are our guests and we will shuttle you to any of the small towns along the trail depending on your level and the miles you would like to go. It is more down hill from the Elroy end back to Sparta. We have the daily and annual bike passes on-site for you to purchase also. Come join the fuel-efficient adventure! “Biking” and come to Sparta, Wisconsin. It is a great individual, group or family activity. Plus, a healthy way to enjoy your summer!
